While there’s no rule prohibiting the other side’s insurance adjuster from calling you, insurance companies typically resist doing that. Many times, they will write you instead. If they do contact you, oftentimes, they don’t know that you’ve already hired an attorney. So what do you do? You immediately let them know, “I’ve hired an attorney,” and you direct them to that attorney and give them the attorney’s phone number. And it’s always a good idea to notify your attorney as well so he or she can be expecting a call from the other side’s insurance adjuster.
